Today we are talking about a very useful machine in the world of sheet metal working and deformation. Let’s go into the details of the press brake.
The bending
Bending is a post-forming processing technique, this process consists of making straight and parallel curves on medium and large workpieces.
Bending is like a curve with a very small radius, it is never more than 7-8 times the thickness of the sheet. The minimum radii are therefore a function of the thickness and the type of material to be bent.
The press brake or press brake
The press brakes use mechanical systems, crank or hydraulic connecting rod systems, they can be operated manually or in the most modern versions with numerically controlled processors (CNC press brakes). The deformation of the sheet metal is caused by a bending stress that must necessarily exceed the limit imposed by the elasticity of the material.
As with press brakes, press brakes are also equipped with a punch (also called a knife) mounted on the mobile part of the bending machine, a die and a hydraulic piston.
Filmar s.r.l., in order to ensure the highest quality of the components that make up its sliding door counterframes, makes use of the latest technology in terms of numerically controlled machines, ensuring a constant and consistent level of precision and quality.
